Maori Language Class

Saturday was the completion of my basic Maori Language Course at Nayland Community College.  Our class visited the Whakatu Marae.  We were welcomed on to the marae with a Powhiri, shared some kai (great homemade scones - yum!) and shared our Mihimihi :)

That was the nerve wrecking part!  We all did really well. Then we learnt about the history of the marae and more about Maori Culture.  A great day :)  Thank you to our kaiako (teacher) Ani & to Mike who lead our group at the marae.

Outlook For Someday Workshop

Its the school holidays!  Enjoyed some PLD (professional learning development) at the Outlook For Someday Workshop in Nelson.
